There was unexpected late May rain on Thursday, totaling about 1/4″ (6mm). I didn’t feel like getting out my rain gear, so I exercised on my stationary bike. The weather has been nicer since then, so I did a few local rides on Friday and Saturday, and then yesterday I rode my recumbent bike two hours and 45 minutes north through Coyote Valley, at a brisk pace, with a few breaks and strength training on the bike. This was followed by a 15-minute strength training session in the garage. This is as hard as I want to squeeze my leaky aortic valve until I have a follow-up with my cardiologist in August.
On rural Dougherty Road through Coyote ValleyPast some fields on Hale AveCloser to the suburb of South San Jose, Hale turns into a divided, beautifully tree-lined street. I rode Hale, then hit residential streets in Bayliss, then followed the foothills to Coleman Ave and back. Unfortunately my camera battery was empty, so I don’t have any photos of this part of the trip.
