Former Rio Rancho Mayor Gregg Hull has secured the GOP nomination New Mexicois the open gubernatorial race.
Hull, widely viewed as the leading candidate heading into Election Day, championed public safety, government experience and economic growth.

He defeated businessman Doug Turner and former New Mexico Human Services Secretary Duke Rodriguez.
Turner portrayed himself as a business-oriented conservative and political outsider focused on jobs and education reform. Rodriguez, a health care executive and former state cabinet secretary, focused on addiction treatment, health care and government reform.

During the race, Hull argued that New Mexico needs tougher approaches to violent crime, fentanyl trafficking and border security, while also criticizing Democratic leadership Santa Fe.
