The USA will continue discussions with them Iranbut the fragile ceasefire is now over, US President Donald Trump said on Friday.
“The Islamic Republic of Iran has asked us to continue ‘talks,'” Trump said in a social media post.
“We agreed to this, but the United States told them in no uncertain terms that the ceasefire is OVER!”
The post comes after a tense NATO summit in Turkey where Trump criticized his allies for not supporting his war on Iran.
“That’s a very interesting question. For me, it’s over. I don’t want to deal with them (Iran),” Trump said at the summit when asked whether the interim deal with Iran, which called for a long-term peace deal to be worked out by mid-August, was over.
“They’re scum. They’re sick people. They’re run by sick people.”
The United States launched new airstrikes against Iran early Thursday, and Tehran responded with an exchange of fire on U.S.-allied countries in the Middle East.

On Thursday, sirens sounded at least three times and missiles targeted Kuwait and Qatar in Bahrain, home to the headquarters of the U.S. Navy’s 5th Fleet.

The attacks hit areas across southern Iran on Thursday, just as Iran prepared for the funeral of the late Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. The country’s theocracy has not directly blamed anyone, although one lawmaker warned the United Arab Emirates against allegedly supporting the U.S. campaign against Iran.
