Prince Harry is not accompanied from his wife Meghan and their two children when he visits London next week as part of a trip to Britain, a source close to him told AFP on Saturday.
The prince had previously been expected to make his first family trip back to Britain in four years, but the source close to the Duke of Sussex said his wife, son Archie and daughter Lilibet would not be joining him on the London leg of the trip.
Preparations for the remainder of the trip were still being considered, the source said, but it was unclear whether the entire family would visit the capital but remain outside.
Harry, 41, is visiting next week to celebrate the year-long countdown to next year’s Invictus Games, which the prince launched in 2014 for wounded veterans. The games will take place from July 10th to 17th, 2027.
The prince was also expected to attend events with his other charities during the multi-day visit this month.
Harry and his family were currently in Europe and were still hoping to make the trip to Britain “in some form,” The Sun newspaper reported on Saturday.
The tabloid reported, citing a source, that Harry and Meghan had planned to visit a London hospital together in their first such engagement since leaving Britain, but he would now go alone “for security reasons.”
A source close to the prince said last month that he and his family would stay at royal residences, and CBS News partner BBC reported that they would be guests of King Charles III. would be.

The king’s younger son has said he would like to reconcile with his father, but it is unclear whether the two will meet during the visit.
He is said to have last met briefly in September 2025 with his 77-year-old father, who is being treated for an unknown cancer at the king’s residence at Clarence House in London.
