French luxury retailer Galeries Lafayette closed its flagship store in Beijing on Wednesday after 13 years, underscoring weak consumer spending and changing shopping habits in China. Shoppers snapped up the last bargains as employees cleared out unsold merchandise and cleared away displays ahead of the six-story department store’s indefinite closure.
