7.24 Friday Faves – The Fitnessista

Hiiii! Happy Friday! What are you up to this weekend? We’re enjoying some pool time after a lot of rain this week, the pilot is home (wahoo!) and we have an NCL event. I wish you a nice and relaxing weekend! When are your children going back to school? We still have a little over a week left and I can hardly believe it. Liv will go to HIGH SCHOOL. How?!

(This week’s beautiful flowers from Trader Joe’s. The entire bouquet was only $15 to put together.)

It’s time for the weekly Friday Favorites roundup! Here I share some of my favorite finds of the week and around the internet. I always love hearing about your favorites too, so please share what you like in the comments section below.

Fashion, beauty, coincidence:

A trip to Orlando! We traveled to Orlando last weekend to visit our friends who live in Seville. They are in Florida this month, so it was our only chance to see them before school started. The crazy thing about being a pilot’s family is that if there is availability, you can decide to take a trip at the very last minute. We looked at the options and decided we could make it happen perhaps 36 hours before landing in Orlando.

(So grateful that our kids chose each other as best buddy soulmates at age 2 1/2)

Whenever we see them we pick up where we left off and the girls had the BEST time together. We stayed at a hotel with an amazing pool and lazy river, spent a day at Epcot, Disney Springs, had dinner at Medieval Times, and just enjoyed hanging out together. It was a 5 day trip and we had so much fun during that time; it was perfect.

It’s worth mentioning here that Epcot was a blast. We haven’t gone there in years, as we usually opt for Animal Kingdom or Disney World, but we really enjoyed the food, the rides (Test Track and Ratatouille were amazing and the kids were obsessed with Figment), and the slower pace. It didn’t feel as crowded or chaotic as the other parks and the fireworks were incredible.

Also, for my gluten-free friends, I have two 10/10 food recommendations for you:

(Since we booked this last minute, I didn’t have as much time to plan as usual, but I found this Instagram page and she has tons of options for a girlfriend!! I booked dinner while lurking on her side on the plane)

Chefs de France at Epcot. They were so knowledgeable about the options for my friend and brought bread to the table for me and P for my friend.

and the chocolate mousse for children was to die for.

The shaved ice in Japan is also gf and you need that. (With coconut cream on top!)

(LOLing at the fact that I put press-on nails on that lasted a day and then put them on upside down. I’m a pro as you can see)

My other recommendation is Sunny Lakefront Home in Disney Springs. So many of their menu options can be made with a friend, the atmosphere and food were amazing. It was dark while we ate, but this GF CHEESE BREAD gives you the idea. AHHHHHHHH.

I love that Xirena dress! Fits true to size and the fabric quality is nice.

NEW goodies from my friends at HigherDOSE! They sent me their new Healthy Hair Ritual kit, including a skin stamp, their new light-activated hair serum, and an incredible acupressure brush. You can combine the entire routine with mine Favorite red light cap. Check out the new set here and use LIGHTACTIVED for a discount until tomorrow!

Read, watch, listen:

I’ve seen this way too many times.

Finished this book (devoured it on the plane) and Getting started with this.

What is your policy on foul language? We’re strictly against it here, although I’ll admit that I’ll throw an F-bomb every now and then, lol.

An excellent podcast episode with two of my favorites.

Fitness, health and good food:

The return of the famous Jennifer Aniston salad. For soccer practice nights, I usually make something ahead of time that I can eat while P plays. I eat at every single practice, lol. For this dish, I air fried some chicken thighs, cut them into pieces and served them with a side of pineapple. So easy, so good and the leftovers are great for lunch the next day.

You don’t have to do a lot of strength training to see the benefits.

Thanks for stopping by the blog today! I wish you a great weekend and see you soon!

xoxo
