Lotte Group uses Arbitrum for Web3 entertainment experiences
Lotte Groupa Big Five conglomerate in South Korea, said at CES 2025 that it has chosen the Arbitrum blockchain Lotte Caliverse.
The Lotte Caliverse will be an AI-driven 3D entertainment experience on the blockchain. Arbitrum was a popular choice as a Layer 2 Ethereum blockchain Due to its flexibility, this deal will provide a Metaverse-like experience to a range of brands.
With over 90 companies in retail, chemicals, hotels, financial services, food and more, Lotte Caliverse features brands such as Givenchy, MCM, L’Occitane, Fresh, 7-Eleven and Tomorrowland, as well as subsidiary brands such as Lotte Duty-Free, Lotte HiMart and Lotte Cinema.
Lotte Caliverse is a next-generation virtual world enabled by Epic Games’ Unreal Engine 5, offering users a unique entertainment experience.
Users can shop at digital stores like Givenchy and MCM and get items in the real world, attend K-pop and electronic music concerts with superstars like NMIXX and DJ ALOK, and enjoy music stages developed with Tomorrowland, one of the largest electronic dance events in the world became music festivals. Users can also immerse themselves in a variety of games, from dance battles with friends to the newly announced “Caliverse: Invasion,” where they fend off aliens. In the future, users will be able to create their own games on the platform.

Lotte and Arbitrum want to expand the boundaries of virtual world experience with Lotte Caliverse. At CES, Lotte Caliverse introduced its latest 3D technologies, including an app that allows users to experience 3D visualizations without glasses. Additionally, real-time 3D Chroma Key AI technology ensures immersive gameplay in Lotte Caliverse.
In 2024, Arbitrum’s gaming ecosystem experienced 72% year-over-year growth and hosted 119 gaming titles and 23 gaming-focused proprietary Orbit chains. By joining Arbitrum’s vast ecosystem, Lotte Caliverse will benefit enormously from network effects.

Last month, Arbitrum formed an alliance with gaming giant Ubisoft to optimize gaming experiences within the Web3 ecosystem. This alliance with Lotte contributes to this dynamic and unites one of Asia’s largest corporations with Arbitrum’s blockchain infrastructure.
