Jennifer Lopez leaves out Ben Affleck in her 2024 recap during her divorce

Jennifer Lopez filed for divorce from the “Accountant” star in August and the duo are still mediating their split.

After completing a full year, Jennifer Lopez shared moments from her life on her Instagram page as a reminder of how she spent 2024.

The video montage showed highlights from cover shoots, performances, premiere performances and awards ceremonies. However, the actress notably left out her future ex-husband Ben Affleck.

Even in the segments showing her documentary “This Is Me… Now: A Love Story,” Affleck was conspicuously absent, even though the project was inspired by her romance with the actor.

All in all, it was an intentional omission from the Atlas star and signaled her willingness to put the emotional weight of her ongoing divorce behind her as the new year begins.

This was further hinted at in one of the highlights where she was seen saying, “In my low moments, I learned to just feel the feelings and then let them go.”

Lopez used the video to signal to fans her determination to reach new heights in the coming year, proclaiming, “The best is yet to come.”

Unsurprisingly, they responded with words of encouragement in the comments section, expressing their excitement for what the singer is up to.

One fan commented: “I love you! It’s been a tough year but we’re so excited for 2025,” while another said: “Here’s to an even bigger, better year! This is it…2025.”

A third fan remarked: “You did something amazing this year. I’m so proud of you. You are my great inspiration. I know 2025 will be your amazing year, the best is yet to come!”

Another Instagram user mentioned, “The best is yet to come! It’s been a tough year, but you are UNSTOPPABLE! We love you so much and are about to break through in this recap. Let’s do it, 2025!!”

Another person wrote: “You really are unstoppable! I can’t wait to see everything you accomplish next.”

According to the Daily MailLopez and Affleck met for lunch at the members-only Soho House in West Hollywood on the Sunday before Christmas.

The “Jenny From The Block” singer wore a cozy oversized cardigan and baggy blue jeans for the date and reportedly exchanged gifts with the “Argo” actor despite filing for divorce from him in August.

On the same day, Affleck was also seen picking up his son from his ex-wife Jennifer Garner’s $7.8 million four-bedroom home in Brentwood Park.

It comes after a source told it Page six last week that the exes “have every intention of continuing to be in each other’s lives, even if they don’t have a romantic relationship.”

The insider added: “Ben and Jennifer are still connected and they communicate when it comes to their children.”

Before the recap, Lopez hinted at her plans for the new year, which include “pushing my boundaries creatively and seeing where that takes me,” she said Daily Mail.

As a multi-talented actress, the actress shared that these plans extend to all of her ventures, “whether it be through acting or music or producing or expanding JLo Beauty.”

She added: “I want to continue to challenge myself to evolve and try new things while staying true to who I am and those I love.”

The actress already has several projects in the works, including the release of the musical Kiss of the Spider Woman.

Lopez plays the title role and also serves as an executive producer, directed by Bill Condon. The film is scheduled to premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in January 2025, but production wrapped earlier this year.

Earlier this month, sources close to Lopez shared that she’s eager to turn the page and “focus on her own life” ahead of the new year.

“She’s had a tough year, but she’s doing well,” an insider said of the mother of two, according to People Magazine. “She’s ready for Christmas and a fresh start to the new year.”

This Christmas, Affleck and Lopez spent the holiday apart, as expected. Sources revealed that Affleck celebrated with his ex-wife Jennifer Garner and their three children, while Lopez reportedly spent the festivities with her sister Lynda Lopez, producing partner Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas, close friend Michelle Chiaravalle and her children.

The duo is still negotiating a divorce after Lopez filed papers ending their two-year marriage in August.
