Putin apologizes to Azerbaijani president for ‘tragic’ plane crash

Russian President Vladimir Putin apologized to the Azerbaijani president for the crash of an Azerbaijan Airlines plane in Russian airspace, the Kremlin said on Saturday. Dozens of passengers were killed and injured in the crash, which aviation experts said was hit by Russian air defense systems in response to a Ukrainian drone strike.
