Hannah Berner broke her silence after receiving backlash for her Blake Lively joke during her Netflix special Torching 2024: A Roast of the Year.
“My joke in the Netflix roast was filmed before the lawsuit was announced,” Berner wrote on her Instagram Story on Friday, December 27th. “To be clear: I support Blake xoxo.”

“The c- word has been trending this year,” Berner, 33, began during her stand-up portion of the special, which premiered on Friday, December 27th. “I don’t think Blake Lively was that bad.”

At the time, social media was flooded with speculation about the feud, with many users criticizing Lively. It’s likely that Berner’s joke was about the chatter and not the lawsuit Lively filed earlier this monthclaimed Baldoni caused her “severe emotional distress” and fostered a “hostile work environment” during production. (The legal action was initiated on December 20th and it is unclear when the December 27th Netflix roast was recorded.) The gossip Girl alum also accused him of sexual harassment and claimed that Baldoni launched a “social manipulation” campaign to destroy Lively’s career and reputation.
Baldoni, for his part, categorically rejected the allegations in a statement Us from his lawyer, Bryan Freedman. According to Freedman, the claims were “completely false, outrageous and intentionally suggestive” and the court filing was ostensibly filed to “improve her negative reputation” and “rehash a narrative” about the film’s production.
Freedman also claimed that Blake made “multiple demands and threats” during filming It ends with usincluding “threatening not to show up to the set, threatening not to promote the film, which ultimately led to its demise during release if their demands were not met.”

Lively, who was also an executive producer on the project, then defended himself against Freedman’s allegations.
“I hope my legal action will help lift the curtain on these sinister retaliatory tactics to harm people who speak out about wrongdoing and protect others who may be targeted,” Lively said in a statement.
Lively has since been supported by members of their familyincluding sister Robyn and her husband Bart Johnsonand other It ends with us Colleagues. Author Hoover, 45, and actor Brandon Sklenar and Jenny Slate have everyone commented in Lively’s favor.
“As a castmate and friend of Blake Lively, I express my support as she takes action against those who have reportedly planned and carried out an attack on her reputation,” says Slate, 42, told Today on Monday, December 23rd. “Blake is a leader, loyal friend and a trusted source of emotional support to me and so many who know and love her. “What has been revealed about the attack on Blake is terribly dark, disturbing and absolutely threatening. I praise my friend, I admire her courage and I stand by her side.”
