Patrick Mahomes reveals a crucial promise that was fulfilled as the Chiefs secured the No. 1 seed in the playoffs

Patrick Mahomes kept the promise he made to his wife Brittany as the Kansas City Chiefs defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers 29-10 on Wednesday afternoon.

Brittany Mahomes is pregnant with the couple’s third child and will be born soon. The star quarterback said he told her the Chiefs would finish first in the playoffs so she could have the baby with him instead of on the football field.

RAVENS TAKES TEXANS ON CHRISTMAS, AFTER DIVISION TITLE

Kansas City went 15-1 this season. They have one more game on January 5th, and it doesn’t look like the team will be lining up their starters for the entire game.

The wild card portion of the playoffs begins on January 11th with the divisional round. In theory, Mahomes could have plenty of free time to be with his wife as she prepares for the birth of their next child.

The chiefs have had a wild season filled with injuries and some off-field turmoil. The team has only scored 30 points in a game once and yet only suffered one defeat.
