The Ghouta area, east of Damascus, has seen some of the fiercest and most sustained fighting of the Syrian civil war, including deadly chemical weapons attacks by the regime of ousted leader Bashar al-Assad. FRANCE 24 reporters visited the bombed-out ruins of Ghouta and spoke to residents haunted by the horrors they endured.
