Tense Christmas Eve in Mozambique after controversial election results

Mozambique’s capital Maputo and northern cities were hit by further unrest on Tuesday, a day after a top court upheld the ruling party’s victory in a disputed poll. More than 100 people have already died in the post-election violence. Opposition leader Venancio Mondlane described the court’s decision as a “humiliation of the people.”
