Acclaimed American television producer and director Woody Fraser, known for his creativity “Good morning America” died, among other things, at the age of 90.
After his daughter Stacy came warm words for Fraser confirmed to Variety that he died on Saturday.
“Woody Fraser was EP of my @FoxNews TV show and a TV pioneer. He was the creator of many TV shows for over seven decades,” former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee wrote on X.
Huckabee called the late producer a “legend” and also noted that Fraser served as his mentor on television.

Producer EV Di Massa Jr., Fraser’s longtime collaborator, also acknowledged this on Facebook.
“My mentor and true production genius, Woody Fraser, has passed away. So many memories. Here we are accepting the Mike Douglas Lifetime Award at the Emmys,” Massa wrote, sharing a photo with Fraser.
Fraser has been nominated for a variety of nominations throughout his long career Daytime Emmy Awards for his work on programs such as “The Mike Douglas Show,” “The Richard Simmons Show,” “The Dick Cavett Show,” “What Would You Do?”, “The Family Challenge,” and “Good Morning America.”
He won an Emmy for “The Richard Simmons Show” in 1982 alongside his wife Noreen Fraser, who was then the show’s producer. Noreen passed away in 2017 after a battle with breast cancer.
Fraser is credited with helping establish “Good Morning America” as a formidable morning entertainment program, serving as the show’s first executive producer.

He worked in Hollywood for 50 years, beginning his career as a director for NBC in 1960. That same year, he worked with Mike Douglas to create his self-titled show, which became one of the most successful and longest-running talk shows in the entertainment industry.
From 1966 to 1973, Fraser oversaw 32.5 hours of programming per week – a record for the time.

Toward the end of his career, Fraser hosted “McEnroe” and “McEnroe” on CNBC “Huckabee” from Fox News.
Fraser is survived by eight children and three grandchildren. His family said more details about his death would be announced at a later date.
