Pep Guardiola feels Manchester City’s poor form needs to be put into context as he prepares for another tough game against Aston Villa.
Guardiola has led City to the last four Premier League titles and six of the last seven.
However, this season has seen a run of one win in 11 games as City have fallen to fifth in the table, behind Nottingham Forest and two points ahead of Villa.
Guardiola said: “I deal with the good moments, I deal with the bad moments. I’ve had bad times in my managerial career, but we were able to come back and now it’s taking longer.
“That gives me experience. I had bad results for 40 days, that’s the truth if you compare it to eight years which are much better. There were eight years of incredible (results) and now we have 40-45 days of (poor results).
PEP 💬 Manuel (Akanji) and John (Stones) are back in training. That’s good for us…

“I’m fine. I’m a normal person with feelings like all of us. When a situation is going well, we are better, and when things aren’t going well professionally, we concentrate more on what we have to do.”
Villa finished fourth last season and have overcome another challenge with an impressive Champions League campaign that included wins over Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig to finish in the top four.
Guardiola says their success under Unai Emery is no surprise.
“I’m not surprised,” he said. “Top, excellent manager. (They had good success) Qualifying for the Champions League and the results in the Champions League speak for themselves.
“They’re coping well with it because when I’ve been at a lot of clubs and looked after both competitions, they’ve done really well.”
