Two goals in the first two minutes as Kane returns to the Bundesliga after injury
Harry Kane returned from a nearly three-week injury layoff when Bayern hosted RB Leipzig on Friday – but Jamal Musiala stole the show by scoring after just one minute.
England captain Kane was involved in the opening game with a pass to Michael Olise, who set up Musiala from close range for the Germany international’s fourth goal of the fourth game.
Leipzig were less than 60 seconds behind when Lois Openda pushed into space and crossed to Benjamin Sesko, who slotted the ball in.
The equalizer was the first time in German first division history that two teams scored in the first two minutes of a game.

Kane injury returns
The Bundesliga’s top scorer Kane had missed three league games and one in the Champions League due to a thigh injury and his absence was most keenly felt in Bayern’s 2-1 defeat at Mainz on Saturday – their first league defeat since the appointment of Vincent Kompany as coach in May.
There was no need for Kane to restore Bayern’s early lead against Leipzig, however, as former Red Bulls midfielder Konrad Laimer completed a one-two with Olise by volleying them back in front after 25 minutes.
Laimer’s first league goal of the season was his second in three games, having scored in a 5-1 win at Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League on December 10.
As if inspired by once again having access to their most productive player, Bayern added a third in Joshua Kimmich.
The German midfielder shot from 25 meters in the 36th minute, spectacularly ending his more than year-long wait for a league goal.

Bayern vs Leipzig
Kane has scored 19 goals in 17 Bundesliga and Champions League games in the 2024/25 season, but the 31-year-old showed his rustiness on a presentable occasion perhaps three minutes later, scoring an unusually tame try that was routinely scored by Goalkeeper Peter Gulacsi was blocked.
Bayern started the evening four points ahead of second-placed Bayer Leverkusen and had a significantly better goal difference after 14 games for both teams.
Marco Rose’s Leipzig had won their last two league games and knew that a win would see them finish in second place, three points behind Bayern.
