Burkina Faso releases four French nationals after Morocco intervenes

Four French nationals were released on Thursday after a year in detention in Burkina Faso. Relations between France and Burkina Faso deteriorated significantly after Ibrahim Traore came to power in a coup in 2022. Paris thanked Morocco for its mediation in the case.
