The US Federal Reserve has cut interest rates for the third time this year to 4.25-4.5%. However, the central bank indicated it was likely to slow the pace of its interest rate cuts next year as prices remained high. Rodney Sullivan of the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business says: “The signal the Fed is sending is that it intends to rein in inflation and bring it down to its 2% target.”
