90 Day Fiancé star David Murphyy has died after battling cancer
David Murphya former star of 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days died on December 11, 2024 at the age of 66 as a result of a battle with liver cancer.
His family announced his death via his Instagram account, stating:
“We are deeply saddened to announce that David Murphey of Las Vegas, Nevada, passed away at home on December 11, 2024 after experiencing health issues over the past several years. He was 66 years old.”
David Murphy was a veteran, small business owner and software developer. He had recently retired from the Clark County Treasurer’s Office in Nevada after also working for H&R Block and IGT.
A year earlier I was diagnosed with liver cancer. Murphy underwent 13 surgeries and was scheduled for another surgery before his death. In addition to liver cancer, he struggled with other health issues, including problems with his gallbladder, pancreas and kidneys.
David Murphy rose to fame on the fourth season of the TLC reality series 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Dayswhere he pursued a relationship with Lana, a woman he met on a Ukrainian dating website. He proposed to her during the show, but the couple eventually parted ways.
Beyond his television appearance Murphy was known for his deep affection for cats. His family noted, “He always sought to adopt cats and give them loving homes,” adding that he often adopted from the Animal Foundation in Las Vegas.
In their statement, his family expressed, “David will be greatly missed by his family, friends and fans” and asked for privacy during this difficult time. They also encouraged those who wanted to honor his memory to make a donation to the Animal Foundation in his name.
