The MCU return of the most popular Avenger is likely to be a disaster, fans won’t get what they expect

In response to declining box office returns and increasing superhero fatigue among audiences, Marvel decided to bring to light one of the few forces in the universe more powerful than Thanos: nostalgia. We already knew that Robert Downey Jr. was inexplicably cast as Dr. Doom would return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, a worthy (if confusing) opponent for the Avengers to face in their next big cinematic showdown. Now The Wrap reports that Chris Evans will also be returning Avengers: End of the Worldand while fans around the world celebrate, I’m here to warn Marvel fans that this return will be a disappointment.

Fan demand to see Chris Evans return to the MCU (in Avengers: End of the World or any other film) has increased since the actor appeared in Deadpool and Wolverine. His appearance was something of a bait-and-switch as fans looked forward to Captain America’s return, only to find out that Evans was actually reprising his role as Johnny Storm from the film Fantastic four Movies. The news that Evans will be starring in the next Avengers film has fans longing for the real Cap’s triumphant return, but I have bad news for those fans. Basically that is it Chris Evans You see in it Avengers: End of the World will be anything but the real cap.

Under hardcore Wonder For comic fans, the most likely theory is that Evans will play the Beyonder, a powerful cosmic being who will take on the familiar face of Captain America. This is exactly what happened in the 1985 comic series Secret Wars IIin which the Beyonder came to Earth and decided to look like Cap. Considering the film will lead straight into it Avengers: Secret WarsIt’s a pretty safe bet that Chris Evans will play a Beyonder who just looks like Captain America Avengers: End of the World.

However, let’s assume that fans’ speculation is wrong and that the beloved actor isn’t playing Beyonder in the next Avengers film. In this case, we’ll likely get a more controversial incarnation of the character: Hydra Cap, a bizarre character created in the wake of the 2015 terror Secret wars strange event. As the name suggests, this is an evil version of Cap who works for Hydra, and while this character’s history has been extremely controversial among comic book fans, for troll fans, I wouldn’t put it past the Russo Brothers to target Hydra Cap to bring big screen.

Captain America

It’s possible that Marvel execs will find a secret third character for Chris Evans to play Avengers: End of the Worldbut I’d bet all the diplomas in Reed Richards’ office on it MCU The legend will play either the afterlife or the Hydra cap. However, why am I so convinced that he won’t play the real Captain America? In addition to the fact that Cap was an old man at the end Endgameit would just be bad writing and marketing to bring the “real” Cap back almost immediately after the debut of Sam Wilson’s first film as Captain America (a film whose cursed production schedule means he already needs all the help he can get).

I am confident that Chris Evans will give his heart and soul Avengers: End of the World No matter what happens…after all, being Johnny Storm and not Cap didn’t stop him from giving a hilariously raunchy performance Dead Pool & wolverine. However, I would like to remind nostalgic fans to temper their expectations for this film, as Evans will inevitably play a very different character, just like Robert Downey Jr. And if Marvel fails to deliver what everyone’s collective nostalgia is truly craving screams, the result may be the kind of box office disaster that leads to it The miracles look like a cinematic masterpiece.
