Since my last post I have continued to pursue my distance challenge and have been doing decent length rides every day. As of July 25th I’ve covered 813 miles (1309km), so I have six days left to make it to 1000. Before I get over that, I have to say that the challenge’s global leader in the 70-74 age group has covered 2390 miles (3850 km) so far and I’m 235th in my age group. Still, this will be a lifetime PR for one month mileage for me and I’m enjoying tracking it.
Last Sunday I did a long ride of 54 miles in 3 hours and 15 minutes, mostly in the mountains northwest to southwest of Morgan Hill.
