FBI Director Kash Patel details a historic multi-agency operation that resulted in the arrest of over 300 suspects in the Chicago area within 60 days.
“Operation New Dawn represents a massive, whole-of-government approach led by President Trump to address violent crime and crimes against children in major American cities,” Patel said in an exclusive statement to Fox News Digital.
“This was a wide-ranging operation in Chicago that brought together 11 different federal government agencies who worked together to make 305 arrests and recover 24 children – many of whom were reported abducted or missing – as well as charges of robbery, kidnapping, Drug traffickingchild exploitation and more,” he added. “The success of this operation and other initiatives like Summer Heat 2.0 should send a clear message to the FBI, our partners and the Department of Justice at the helm.” AG Todd Blanche “We are working hard to dismantle criminal networks in this country, no matter where they are.”
Agencies involved included the FBI, Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), according to a opinion from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Illinois.

Apart from the robbers, kidnappers and drug traffickers that Patel detailed, other suspects have been implicated in the colossal operation, including those who were involved in it Arms traffickingFirearms offenses and immigration violations, according to the U.S. attorney’s statement.
The statement described the operation as “insignialess” and noted that the numerous federal agencies worked together “under the banner of the flag of the United States and not under the shield of any agency.”
U.S. Attorney Andrew S. Boutrot said the operation and the cooperation surrounding it represented a new era of law enforcement in America.
“I believe that to combat violence, federal law enforcement must move at the speed of violence,” Boutros said in a statement. “The remarkable success of Operation New Dawn is a stark demonstration of this. Chicago’s federal anti-violence apparatus has united under one banner – the flag of the United States and not the shield, badge, banner or logo of any agency – to make its presence felt on the streets of Chicago and make clear that it is a force to be reckoned with in the fight against violence.”

Together, we have made a significant contribution in removing shooters and other violent offenders from our streets and making Chicago safer for everyone.”
The collaboration allowed authorities to catch criminals like Felipe Dejesus Gomez Ramirez, who HSI says is one convicted murderer and illegal Foreigner.
New Dawn operators also arrested David Collins and Tyrone Thomas, who authorities say are members of Chicago Traveling Vice Lords criminal Gang heavily involved in drug trafficking. Both were charged federally with conspiracy to possess heroin and fentanyl.

“Operation New Dawn demonstrates the power of coordinated law enforcement efforts to address the interconnected threats of violent crime and drug trafficking,” DEA Chicago Field Division Special Agent in Charge Todd C. Smith said in a statement.

“Through the Homeland Security Task Force and in collaboration with the U.S. Attorney’s Office, federal, state and local law enforcement agencies have pooled information, resources and expertise to target individuals and criminal networks that threaten public safety. Reducing violent crime remains one of the DEA’s top strategic priorities, and the large drug seizures resulting from this operation underscore the close connection between violence and drug trafficking. By working together to dismantle criminal organizations, remove dangerous drugs from our communities and By holding criminals accountable, we improve public safety while advancing our commitment to a fentanyl-free America,” Smith concluded.
