I will be doing my club’s Tierra Bella tour on April 12th. I’m only riding the 30 mile route, but I’m heading to the start in Gilroy, which is 12.6 miles away, for a total of just over 55 miles (88 km). This is part of my route as my long rides were a maximum of 30 miles (48 km). That’s why I’ve been increasing my long rides lately to prepare myself. I’m looking forward to the tour, I haven’t ridden the tour for many years, normally I can’t do it because I’m a volunteer. But this year I volunteered for route marking, which takes place the day before, so I’m free for the tour. Due to my leaky heart valve, I am somewhat limited at higher intensities such as sprints or big climbs, but I tolerate long, easy rides well.
