I only did shorter rides on the stationary bike because it caused neck problems. But I’ve been getting more into training my neck lately and thought I was ready for a longer standing session. Friday I was there for almost two hours and it felt good. My neck doesn’t like being hunched over the handlebars for long periods of time, but I can give it a break by either taking standing breaks to pedal or using the bar extension device on my handlebars that I call “standing bars” to sit upright. I made sure to do one thing or another every few minutes.
It’s important that I can do this because my stand is much easier to transport. If I want to have an adventure on vacation, I can also rent it locally. The chances of renting a recumbent bike are minimal, but renting recumbent bikes is common. A local adventure I discovered is Electrically assisted fat bike rentals in Montereywhere there are many great places for horse riding.
The trip on Friday was closed Harvey Bear Park in San Martin and back. I went up the Willow Springs Trail a bit, then back down and circled the easy Martin Murphy Trail. This was also a good opportunity to try out my new GoPro again and I took some good photos and videos.

On the way home I visited my alpaca friend at his farm in San Martin. There is a short video Here. As always, he was excited and ran to the fence. Sorry buddy, the sign says please don’t feed the animals.
