Share some of my favorite lunch box ideas for teenagers!
Hello friends! How are you doing? I hope you have a nice morning so far. I packed Podcast interviews and customer calls this week -here we goooooo -because the pilot is at home and can take on homeschool.
For today’s post I wanted to share some lunch box ideas for teenagers. I do the girls’ lunch every day and I love putting them together. The LIV school offers a hot lunch that contains various fast food restaurants to take away, but it is super expensive (about $ 20 for chick-fil-a) and you don’t even keep the food warm before serving it to the children. For quality and cost reasons, I keep making food here at home.
Last year I sometimes opened Livs Lunchbox to wash them and it would still be located here.
“Why didn’t you eat at noon? Do you have no hungry at lunchtime?”
“I’m a bit hungry, but sometimes I don’t really want a bagel or a sandwich … I would love a meal.”
“A meal? How do you mean?”
“Like ramen or chicken or salad or similar.”
That blew me away. I still packed her “Little Kid Lunpons”. Don’t get me wrong, they still looked good and had a lot of delicious and healthy components, but she wanted a real meal instead of a bag or PB & J. It was a huge moment of the light bulb for me because I would feel the same way. I don’t like eating the same cold things every day, and for lunch I often prefer a * meal * instead of a bag or PB & J.
(And for the friends out there, who may be wondering why she did not pack her own lunch, she danced more than 10 hours a week in the city last year and had hours of homework every evening. It is also one of the things I can do for her – I enjoy it!)
I started asking for ideas for lunch and bringing them to Costco and Whole Foods with me to choose things that look good for them. Now I make them * meals * for lunch that are still as fast as a PB & J or Bagel, but they are more satisfying and more pleasant.
Here are some of the things contained in the rotation:
Pack -lunch ideas for teenagers
Main course:
Lettuce paste
This is that Best pasta salad in the world And you can manage to enjoy all week in advance.
Holded salad with homemade dressing
Liv loves a chopped salad and I usually add different types of green, a protein (like left -wing chicken or cut deli -turkey), ganizia beans, edamame, poshi artichokes or asparagus, grated cheese, olives, vegetables and one Homemade dressing.
Jennifer Aniston Salad
We all love this salad And it’s so easy to pack for lunch with grilled chicken.
Egg stings
These can also be made in advance and frozen. We all love this Mediterranean egg or this Starbucks Copycat Eggbisse.
Ramen or Buldok
She loves ramen and doesn’t matter to eat it cold/room temperature, so I do it the night before and keep it in a glass tank.
Slices sliced grilled chicken with dip sauces and rice
I will often prepare chicken or meatballs and pack them for lunch with ranch or BBQ sauce to dive.
Ravioli with olive oil and grated cheese above
Available the ravioli that drizzle olive oil and grated Parmian Reggiano.
pizza
It’s so easy to sell and pack a few pieces of pizza
Remnants
It’s funny because I hated leftovers as a child, but the girls love them. Sometimes after dinner I ask Liv what I can pack for lunch and she asks if we have leftovers from our food. If we do that, I just pack it in to go. Things like Lasagna, Enchiladas, Papusas, Chili or Cattle Hack and Stirries are all options that she wanted to pack and take for lunch.
Greek bowls with Pita bread
Rice, chicken, hummus, Greek salad, grape leaves and pita
Pages:
Fruit
I will wash, chop and prepare a ton of fruit for the week because we all love. I usually buy what is in the season, so it has been berries (strawberries, blackberries, raspberries), grapes, a few types of melons and pineapple. I soak the berries in vinegar and water in vinegar and water for 2-5 minutes and let them dry completely before they are kept in glass containers. I also chopped the melon and pineapple and storage in glass containers.
Jerkily
Chips boulder, Siete or Jackson’s are the go-to-to-tos, but she also loves Taki’s occasionally or the dealer Joe’s Copycat Taki’s
Dried fruits or fruit strips
Poshi veggie packs
Cut vegetables with hummus
Cheese
Yogurt with fruit above
Homemade cookies, brownies, bars or chocolate to the dessert
I try to reduce the amount of Pacakged snacks that we buy. But we still get snack -like things and pantry booklets Thrive market < - My link saves you 40% in your first order.
So, tell me, friends: What do your teenagers like to eat for lunch? How is the hot lunch in your school?
In Livs preschool in San Diego they had the best hot lunch options. You could order sushi (!), Acai shells, Caesar salads, soups, sandwiches, it was ridiculous.
