The Israeli fire killed at least 40 people on Monday, of which half of them were near a relief distribution location that was operated by the American humanitarian of the Gaza Foundation, such as the Territory Ministry of Health, as the UN civil servants denounced Israeli aid connection methods.
Doctors said that at least 20 people were killed and 200 others were wounded in Rafah near an auxiliary distribution location. The youngest in daily mass shootings, in which hundreds of Palestinians tried to achieve food since Israel imposed a new sales system imposed after they had sometimes increased an almost three -month overall blockade.
Israel has transferred responsibility for the distribution of a majority of help in Gaza in the hands of the Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) to Gaza, which runs three locations in areas guarded by Israeli troops. The United Nations rejected the plan and explained that the GHF distribution is insufficient, dangerous and violates humanitarian impartial principles.
There was no immediate comment from the Israeli military on shooting reports on Monday. In earlier incidents, there have occasionally recognized troops that open fire near aid sites while accusing militants for provoking violence.
Relatives arrived in the Nasser Hospital to mourn the dead. Women and children cried next to bodies that were wrapped in white corpses.
“We went there and thought we would get help to feed our children, but it turned out that it was a trap, a murder. I advise everyone: Don’t go there,” said Ahmed Fayad, one of those who tried to help on Monday.
“Deadly distribution system”
Philippe Lazzarini, head of the United Nations Urwa Palestinian Refugee Authority, said in a post on X: “In the past few days, numerous people have been killed and injured, including hungry people who tried to get some food from a fatal distribution system.”
Before the new system has been set up, the help was distributed to the 2.3 million inhabitants of Gaza, mainly by UN agencies such as UNRWA, in which thousands of employees in the Gaza are busy and hundreds of locations are operated on the width of the enclave.
Israel says it has to get involved against the spread because the Hamas fighters distract food aid. The militants deny this and say that Israel uses hunger as a weapon.
Lazzarini said that Israel had not brought any restrictions for UN agencies, including Unrwa, who brought help to the enclave despite a wealth of support that was willing.
On Sunday, Cogat, the Israeli authority on military aid, declared 292 trucks with humanitarian aid from the United Nations and the International Community, including food and flour in Gaza this week.
The Israeli military would continue to allow humanitarian aid and at the same time ensure that Hamas did not achieve it.
At least 300 killed since locations were opened
Before the incident on Monday, the Gaza Ministry of Health announced that at least 300 people had been killed so far and that more than 2,600 wounded, since the start of the GHF company near help.
In Geneva, Volker Turk, UN rights head, told the UN Human Rights Council on Monday that Israel “armed” the food in Gaza. He repeated a call to investigate fatal attacks near the GHF distribution points.
“The means and methods of the Israel of warfare cause terrible, unforgivable suffering to the Palestinians in the Gaza,” said Turk.
“Troubling, dehumanism from high -ranking Israeli government officials commemorates the most serious crimes,” he added.
Ten Palestinians were killed by Israeli tank fire in Gaza on Friday, the local health authorities said, since a group of US and Israeli group who distributed help in the enclave, said that all of their sales offices were closed up to further.
At least five people were killed on Sunday when thousands of Palestinians approach two GHF sales points in the center and south of the enclave.
In a statement, the GHF said that food deliveries resumed on Sunday and that more than two million meals of its three sales locations had spread without incidents.
The war in Gaza broke out 20 months ago after the militants led by Hamas attacked and 251 hostages and 1,200 people, most of them, killed and killed civilians on October 7, 2023.
According to the health authorities in Gaza, Israel’s military campaign has killed almost 55,000 Palestinians, most of them, and have flattened a large part of the densely populated strip. Most of the population is displaced and widespread malnutrition is a major concern.
