The harbor master’s office in Al Hceima announced the temporary closure of the port against the maritime navigation on Saturday afternoon due to bad weather conditions. This decision follows a bulletin for meteorological warnings in relation to the province of Al Hceima, which provides gusts of up to 74 km/h from 2:00 a.m.
In a press release, the harbor master’s office asked the owners and seafarers of the fishing boats to strictly fulfill this decision and not to take the risk of going at sea.
It also insisted on the importance of close coordination between the port services, local authorities and the maritime royal gendarmerie in order to activate the necessary preventive measures during this closure period to ensure the safety of all users of the port.
