Rabat – OCP Green Water, a company of the OCP Group in Morocco, has secured MAD 6 billion (620 million US dollar) financing for the expansion of its desalination projects.
The financing was provided from the Caisse de Dépôt et de Gestion (CDG), one of the most important public financial institutions in Morocco, and structured by its investment arm CDG Capital.

By 2030, OCP Green Water aims to produce 630 million cubic meters of desalzing water every year. As a result, all non -conventional water needs of the OCP Group are fulfilled and help to supply near cities and farms.

OCP Green Water focuses on non-traditional water sources such as desalination and use of wastewater. These efforts are part of a larger plan of the OCP Group to rely on non -conventional water and clean energy.
OCP has already achieved complete autonomy of water consumption since the beginning of 2025 and is to reach 100% clean energy by 2027 to 2040 to 2027 and carbon neutrality.
A severe water crisis is currently in Morocco, which has been tightened by longer droughts. The country has recorded six consecutive years of the drought, which led to a significant decline in dam water reserves.
