Bank al Maghrib (BAM) has announced that it provides for the short -term creation of a Support Acquisition Fund to encourage dealers to accept electronic payments, said the Central Bank Abderrahim Bouazza.
“Under the short -term measures to strengthen the infrastructure of payments, BAM intends to set up a Support Acquisition Fund in order to facilitate the acceptance of electronic payments by dealers.”Bouazza said in an interview with the map on the edge of Gitex Africa Morocco in Marrakech.
The CEO of the central bank underlined the need to benefit from existing payment platforms for implementing a uniform payment platform for immediate payment with a simplified customer experience. He also insisted on the introduction of attractive prices for electronic payments from the decline in exchange commissions including bank cards, while he reflected the use of penalty payment in the medium term.
