The products marketed by the coastal and craft fishing fishing fell in volume, but their value rose at the end of March last year. According to the National Office of Fisheries (OnP), the recordings reached 136,857 tons (T), which were withdrawn by 25% compared to the first three months of 2024, while its value experienced 8% to more than 3.2 billion DH.
According to species, the landings of shellfish, white fish and kephalopods rose the same source by 184% to 44 t, 13% to 28,686 t and 5% to 25,055 t. On the other hand, the landing of algae increased by 81% to 781 t, pelagic fish from 36% to 80,713 t and crustaceans from 12% to 1,578 t.
A total of 4,628 t of coastal and craft fishing products in Mediterranean harbor entrances had ended up by ports by the end of March 2025, an increase of 6% compared to the same period in the previous year. With regard to the value, these ports rose by 12% to more than 244.7 million DH.
With regard to the ports on the Atlantic, they fell with weight from 25% to 132,228 t, while their value rose 8% to around 3 billion DH.
