The respect of the territorial integrity of states, international law and multilateral obligations is essential to solve conflicts and to solve the common challenges of the euro Mediterranean region, the President of the Rachid Talbi El Alami representative, on Friday.
Talbi El Alami stopped in the final meeting of an international forum on the future of the Mediterranean and called for strength in view of threats such as terrorism, separatist indications, attacks on the unity of the states as well as the problems associated with climate change and migration. He advocated non -interference in the inner affairs of the federal states and for cooperation due to respect for national sovereignty.
With regard to migration, the president insisted on the importance of the global pact adopted in Marrakech in 2018 and called for a basis for concerted, safe and respectful migration policy. With regard to the climate, he urged compliance with the commitments as part of the United Nations framework convent.
Talbi El Alami also emphasized the central role that Africa can play in the reactions to global challenges in order to strengthen the cooperation of the North South and to build balanced partnerships. He also confirmed the commitment of the House of Representatives in favor of dialogue, peace, human rights and parliamentary cooperation in the Mediterranean region.
