Chemedine Talbi missed the 2-1 win of Club Brugge against Anderlecht in Jan Breydel Stadium on Sunday due to muscle pollution.
Club Brugge secured victory with goals from Christos Tzolis and his own goal of Jan-Carlo Simić. Anderlecht’s only goal came from Simić’s header.
Talbi is expected to be put back into action next week in the upcoming game against Antwerp.
Talbi’s decision to collect Snub Belgium for Morocco Rocked Belgian football. Kevin Vermeulen, Belgium’s talent manager, lost his job after failing to convince Talbi to stick to the Belgian national team.
The head coach of Moroccos, Walid Regragui, called Talbi in front of the qualifications of the World Cup against Niger and Tanzania for the national team training camp. However, Talbi was left out of the squad due to fitness problems.
In the meantime, Morocco won both games, the group with 15 points and secure the early qualification for the 2026 World Cup in the USA, Canada and Mexico.
