In May 2024, the head of orthopedics in the Al-Shifa Hospital Adnan Al-Bursh died in prison after being arrested for four months. A former prisoner in the same facility later reported that Al-Bursh died in the prison courtyard, where he was unloaded, bleed down naked from the waist, and could not stand.
