After two years of high values, the inflation recorded a very significant slowdown in 2024 and, according to Bank al-Maghrib (BAM), returned an average of 0.9%. The institution tabs an acceleration of inflation in 2025 and 2026, while they stay on a moderate level.
According to the central bank, the underlying component of inflation was 2.2% in 2024 and would also develop by around 2% in the medium term. “These perspectives remain surrounded by strong uncertainties that are particularly associated with external level, on the continuation of geo -economic tensions and their effects on global inflation and the development of the care of agricultural products”underlines Bam.
The Council also found that the inflation expectations are still anchored.
