“Life” may not be a great success when it ended up in cinemas in 2017, but a few years later it finds a new life in Prime Video. With Jake Gyllenhaal and Ryan Reynolds, the sci-fi horror film climbed to the top of the streaming charts. He is in 4th place and frankly he deserves this second chance. The occupation of “Life”, written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, also includes Rebecca Ferguson, the Emmy winner “Shōgun” star Hiroyuki Sanada, Olga Dihovichnaya and Ariyon Bakare. In addition to Gyllenhaal and Reynolds, they play astronauts on the international space station, which are in contact with an extraterrestrial way of life. Unfortunately, this little nibbler is not the friendly way and soon narrowed the crew in succession, so that the survivors can do anything to prevent it from returning to earth.
Our own Jacob Hall described “Life” as “an old-fashioned B-movie that is dressed like a blockbuster”, “ With a great creature in the center of this characteristic. Sometimes the Daniel Espinosa staged film returns to “Alien” and “The Thing”, and, thanks to the star force that keeps this monster in chess, is addictive. This could be a fundamental gang of space spans that dare to stab the Biestie with a stick, but because it is Gyllenhaal, Reynolds and Crew who try to stop the star fish -like space.
It also becomes an even better view when you follow the headcanon created by armies of comic film fans when the film was originally published, shortly before a certain Marvel Antiheld gave its solo spin-off debut.
Life still looks too poison as a forerunner, honest
Before and during the publication, an idea arose that “life” was secretly connected to one of Sony’s upcoming comic adaptations: “Venom”. Without deceiving too much in spoiler territory (yes, it is so good that we don’t want to ruin eight-year film), a Reddit theory suggested that “life” was a forerunner to “Venom” that arrived the following year. Adding fuel to this fan-controlled speculation was the fact that the authors of the science fiction film were also written A “poison” script that passed the Sony passed on. “Life” even contained a crowd clip of “Spider-Man 3”, but only further speculation that it is the smartest franchise-kick starter Sony that Sony can ever hope for. It wasn’t, but Reese and Wernick himself love the idea.
“Suddenly someone goes out there, ‘Bing! Light bulb!'” Said Wernick Comicbook.com. Reese even agreed that the film had made a big prequel. “It would be true?” He adorned with the website and Reese packed his writing partner together. “This is the symbiot! Eddie Brock is on earth. The symbiot is on earth, says Eddie Brock. He realizes that he can hide on the inside of a person.”
Sure, it may not be official, but you can keep the headcanon that “life” finally a forerunner for “poison” is-and the best Sony “Spider-Man” film that we never got.
