Criminal proceedings: The House of Representatives examines Bill No. 03.23

The Commission for Justice and Legislation in the House of Representatives began on Tuesday with the detailed examination of Bill No. 03.23, in which the law on criminal proceedings in the presence of the Minister of Justice Abdellatif Ouahbi was changed. This project aims to align the criminal proceedings for the constitution of 2011 and the international standards by changing 421 articles.

The project leads to considerable reforms, especially in crimes that affect public funds. Article 3 stipulates that these surveys can only be started at the request of the General Prosecutor in front of the court of reports from the official institutions.

Ouahbi emphasized that this reform aims to strengthen the rule of law, to guarantee the protection of freedoms and to end certain abusive practices that are related to the submission of complaints that were not founded by associations.
