Thanks to a brilliant strike by Callum Hudson-Odoi, Nottingham Forest secured a decisive 1-0 victory against the reigning champion Manchester City on the town square.
The first 45 minutes were closely competitive, and both teams fought to create clear opportunities.
The city dominated the possession and tried to reduce the well -organized line of defense from forest, but lacked its usual fluidity of the attack.
Forest, on the other hand, played on the counterattack and used the pace of Anthony Elanga and Hudson-Odoi to use City’s High Defensive Line.
The hosts had their first real chance when Chris Wood had exaggerated a long ball, but his attempt to praise Ederson was lacking power and was conveniently gathered by the Brazilian goalkeeper.
City’s best chance of finding half came when Nico Gonzalez tried his luck from afar. His strike fell outside the post. Phil Foden also had the chance to break the Deadlock, but saw his near -area effort from Nicolas Dominguez blocked.

They pressed higher on the field and got the city’s backline, especially through Hudson-Odois dribbling ability.
City had a dangerous free kick right in front of the box, and Kevin de Bruyne stepped to take it. However, Matz Sels was the same as the task and ensured a comfortable saving. Minutes later, a curly effort from De Bruyne sailed only far from the post.
