Chelsea captain Reece James says his team has taken a “step in the right direction” after defeating Copenhagen in the Europa Conference League.
Thanks to the gates of Skipper and Enzo Fernandez, the blues drove into a 2-0 lead from home in the second half.
But there was a slight disappointment full -time when the hosts fought their way back into the game.
This means that you will drive to the Stamford Bridge, hoping to take a miracle, but James sees the result as a whole as positive.
After the game, he said: “It’s a big step in the right direction. Coming here is a difficult place to go and the atmosphere was incredible.
“You have put up well and it is always frustrating to admit that late in the game. Our goal was to run a clean leaf and we couldn’t do it, but we got the victory.
“It is always good to score and help the team, and luckily we got the victory. We know that it is another huge game (next week), we have to win and want to win this competition. “
“We want to drive this competition forward and win” 🏆 🏆

Head coach Enzo Maresca, on the other hand, was enthusiastic about the result and in particular James’ performance, which indicates that he could change the position in the future.
He added: “I see Reece as a midfielder. Since the first day. I sent him a clip when he was on vacation how he could be a midfielder. He played in a full -back, the central defender, so the main goal for us is to keep him fit.
“We know how important it is for us. He is our captain, a fantastic player. We need him fit, that is our duty, our goal, because it will help us with certainty. He can play in many positions because the good players can play in many positions.
“It was a bit sloppy. We can avoid that. It’s football, it can happen. Now 90 minutes are ready and now we have 90 minutes more against you.
“The main game for us is the game on Sunday at home and we need our fans 100 minutes behind the team and push the team.
“If we can win against Leicester on Sunday, we can take another step in the Champions League (whether), whether four or top 5, I don’t know.”
