Getty picturesUS President Donald Trump said that Mexico will not be obliged to pay tariffs for goods that fall under the trading pact between the two countries and Canada by April 2.
Trump did not confirm whether the suspension also applies to Canada, but the retail secretary Howard Lutnick said on Thursday earlier that he was confident that the task would apply to both neighbors in America.
The latest step is the second promotion in two days from Trump on his tariffs.

Lutnick announced CNBC that the temporary liberation of tariffs for auto parts imports from Canada and Mexico could be extended to all products that are part of the USMCA agreement of the USA-Mexico Canada.

On Thursday, Trump wrote about the social truth that Mexico would be liberated by April 2.
“After talking to President Claudia Sheinbaum from Mexico, I agreed that Mexico does not have to pay tariffs for something that falls to the USMCA agreement,” he said.
