Barcelona returned to the summit of Laliga with a 4-0 win against Real Sociedad.
A clinical performance of the hosts, supported by an early red card for the Sociedad captain Aritz Elustondo, had her advance for the title of the league.
Real Sociedad thought they had a dream start when they found the network just four minutes later, with other Barrenetxea’s cut to Jon Gomez ‘distracted finish. However, the goal was quickly excluded because Jon Lopez ended up a marginal offside in the end and pointed out a frustrating afternoon for the visitors.
In the 17th minute things took a drastic turn when Sociedad Captain Elustondo showed a straight red card. The defender settled Dani Olmo, who raced onto the goal and referee Alejandro Quintero Gonzalez without any other choice than sent him. From that moment on, the game accepted a predictable pattern, with Barcelona claiming complete control.
The breakthrough came eight minutes after the red card. A dazzling movement by Lamine Yamal saw the teenager Bamboozle Lopez before putting Olmo into the box.
The Spaniard delivered a perfectly floating pass to the left -back Gerard Martin, who put his first senior destination home in a breathtaking way to give Barcelona a well -deserved lead.

The locks threatened to open and the second goal came in the 29th minute. Pedris corner was clearly beaten by Sociedad goalkeeper Alex Remiro, but the ball fell Olmo, whose powerful strike had a happy distraction in front of Marc Casado before it was in the lower corner.
With a two-goal pillow and a numerical advantage, Barcelona dominated after the break. Sociedad, who was already fighting step, withdrew deeper into her defensive shape, but could not withstand the relentless blue grana attack.
Barcelona’s third came in the 56th minute with the kind permission of Ronald Araujo. Robert Lewandowski, whose header was instinctively saved, found a corner from Yamal. However, the rebound fell kindly for Araujo, who nodded his first Laliga goal of the season home, ironically against the same page against which he was last achieved in November 2023.
Just four minutes later, Lewandowski added its name to the Scoresheet to make it 4-0. Araujo became the provider this time and pulled a deep shot over the gate that the Polish striker instinctively guided past Remiro. The goal was his 21st of the Laliga campaign and underlined Barcelona’s ruthlessness in front of the goal.
The victory extends Barcelona’s home dominance to Real Sociedad, after winning 26 of her last 27 home meetings in Laliga. It is even more important that it drives you back to the top of the league table while you continue your title.
