The WBA Lightweight Champion Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis (30-0, 28 KOS) received a gift with 12 laps more than the underdog Lamont Roach (25-1-2, 10 KOS) in front of a sold-out amount of unfortunate fans at the end of the night on Saturday at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
Referee error
The referee contributed to the result of the fight by waving a knockdown in the ninth demolition when Gervonta took a knee after being thrown directly into the pipe from a right hand with Roach.
After the fight, Tank Davis said that he had the feeling that he had pulled out the victory in the last three rounds. However, these were Roach’s best rounds of the fight when he hit Davis with shots, frustrated him and brought the fans to the height.

It has to be the worst robbery I’ve ever seen. Roach Schulte Tanner from A to B and made him look like a rank amateur tonight and counters at every occasion. When things looked bleak for Davis in the championship rounds, he grabbed, Roach hit his back, owed and threw low blows.
