Rabat – King Mohammed VI led the inauguration of 26 newly built, reconstructed and restored mosques at the beginning of St. Ramadan.
The Ministry of Foundations and Islamic Affairs said in a statement that four new mosques were built, while 13 mosques were reconstructed and nine renovated.
The ministry found that the budget for the MAD mosque projects reached 160 million (16.1 million US dollars). The 26 mosques have a total capacity of 14,836.
If the holy month approaches quickly, the Muslims across the country are expected to flow in mosques in mosques, especially for Taraweeh, a prayer that is led during the evening during the Ramadan.
