Rabat – Moroccos National Electricity Regulatory Authority (Anre) has set the medium -voltage division network (Turd) for the first time, which is an important step in the regulation of the country’s electricity sector.
The tariff, which is set at 5.92 centimeters per kilowatt hour, applies from March 1, 2025 to February 28, 2027. Anre announced that he would adjust the inflation and economic conditions a year later.
This decision determines a single tariff in the whole country, a step that Anre says, simplifies the price structure, especially when Morocco progresses with the creation of regional multi-service companies (SRMS).
The two -year time frame corresponds to the plans re -evaluate The National Electricity Transmission Network tariff, which ends in early 2027.
Anre tries to give investors a clearer visibility and at the same time increase the transitions of Morocco to the cleaner energy. Since the carbon tax becomes effective in early 2026, the new tariff framework is intended to support the national efforts compared to a low-carbon economy.
The process that led to the decision included extensive consultations with industry takers and public inputs on the Anre website.
The authority also pointed out the importance of transparency for the structuring of the tariff and ensured that all consumers contribute appropriately to network costs. It is also an attempt to offer companies and households stability and at the same time improve the efficiency of the network operation.
This tariff is part of a wider regulatory framework enact Ensure a fair and non -discriminatory access to electricity networks.
In addition to the setting of the Turd, Anre stopped using the national electricity transfer network (Turt), which will be set at 6.68 centimeters per kilowatt hour from March 1, 2025.
The Services Compensation (TSS) system is set to 6.64 centimeters per kilowatt hour for the same period.
