Donald Trump released General CQ Brown on Friday as chairman of the joint chiefs of staff and displaced the respected leader of the Air Force when the president tries to remove military officers who supported the politics of diversity, justice and inclusion.
Defense Minister Pete Hegseth also released two other top officers: head of the marine operations Admiral Lisa Franchetti and Air Force Vice Chief of Stab General James Slife. The surprise burns on Friday evening were certainly the US military, which Trump swore, to remove what he refused as a “bright” DEI programs.
BrownThe second black general, who acted as the top officer of the military, began in October 2023 with a term of four years.
“I would like to thank General Charles ‘CQ’ Brown for his over 40 -year service in our country, including our current chairman of the joint heads of staff,” Trump card wrote of his truth on his social platform.
“He is a good gentleman and an outstanding leader, and I wish him and his family a great future.”
Trump said that he would nominate the retired Air Force Lieutenant General Dan “Razin” Caine to replace Brown. As a rule, presidents choose someone for the role that is head of service or fighter commander.
Trump met Caine when he visited Iraq in December 2018, where the officer was the deputy general command of the special operation of the joint task force during the military campaign against the Islamic state.
During a speech of 2024 at the conservative political action conference, Trump said that Caine “looked better than any film that they could get”.
Caine had recently retired from the military and joined Shield Capital as a venture partner. He was also a top consultant for the CIA for military matters, was an F-16 pilot and a scholarship holder of the White House.
“In addition to secretary Pete Hegseth, General Caine and our military will restore peace through strength, put America in the first place and rebuild our military,” said Trump about the social truth.
Trump said he also instructed Hegseth to ask for nominations, “for five other high -ranking positions that will soon be announced”.
Hegseth said he and Trump “set” a new tour that will concentrate our military on his core mission to deter, fight and win wars.
He said he also fired the top lawyers for the army, the navy and the Air Force.
The speculation about Brown’s future was triggered by Trump’s appointment from Hegseth as Minister of Defense. In a podcast appearance in November, the former moderator of Fox News said: “First of all, you have to dismiss the chairman of the joint chiefs.”
He accused Brown that he had tried to implement “Woke” guidelines together with other generals.
With a majority in the Senate, Trump could have a long scope to replace top officers.
Roger Wicker, the Republican Chairman of the Committee on Armed Forces of the Senate Armed Service, said that he was “self -confident secretary Hegseth and President Trump will select a qualified and capable successor for the critical position of the chairman of the joint chief of staff”.
“President Trump deserves how every president will choose military advisors he knows, to trust and have a relationship,” the Republican Senator Lindsey Graham wrote to X.
Jack Reed, the high -ranking Democrat on the Senate Committee, said he was worried by the layoffs.
“This seems to be part of a broader, intentional campaign by President Trump and Secretary Hegseth in order to eliminate talented officers for politically accused reasons who undermine the professionalism of our military and send a frightening message through the ranks.”
The Pentagon said on Friday on Friday that it would fire 5,400 civil workers from next week, the first round in a greater cleaning of his workforce.
The Trump government intends to reduce the Department of Defense by 5 percent and 8 percent, said Selnick, Senior Pentagon official. That would potentially mean tens of thousands of people.
