The environmental, social and governance -sukuk market (ESG) has exceeded a new record. According to the London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG), its value exceeded over 50 billion US dollars. This performance was brought by emissions from the Banks of the Gulf Cooperation Council (CCG).
Malaysia, Indonesia and Saudi Arabia were the three largest markets in detail, which corresponded to 67% of the world market value on the Sukuk ESG market. Only for 2024 were the Sukuk emissions quantified to $ 15.2 billion, which according to LSEG data corresponds to 14.5% in annual sliding growth. This is the eighth year in a row of record programs since the creation of the Sukuk ESG market in 2017.
The Sukuk ESG made 1.8 % of the total ESG binding emissions and 6.2 % of the total -sukuk emissions.
