The experienced driver of the veterans Nascar and the Arca Menard’s series Benny Chastain died at the age of 82. The news of his death on February 9, 2025 was exceeded with an inhibition of the racing community and fans around the world. Many went on social media to remember his contributions to Stock Car Racing and his presence in the Arca garage.
Chastain, who competed in the Arca Menards series for two decades, began his racing career in a relatively late age and made his debut of his Arca Menards series on the South Boston Speedway in 2004 when he was 55 years old in the 2006 season an integral part in Arca and got a reputation as a committed and passionate driver. His best end to the series was the 15th place in Daytona in 2020.
His death was first reported by Jared Haas on social media. He went to his X account and wrote,

News from fans started shortly afterwards. Some praised Benny as a beloved personality in the Arca garage, while others liked to remember their interactions with him. Zachary Tinkle, a Cra master of Vorte from 2019 Vore Cra Late Model Sportsman, praised Chastain and remembered his short interactions with him.

In 2004, Chastain made his Arca Menard series series and took 22nd place. His career best came in Daytona in 2020, where he was 15th. Although he started his racing career at 55, he stayed a competitor in sports at the age of 79 and started in Daytona at the age of 79 and ended at the age of 25 while driving to a fast race.
A look back: when Benny drove chastain to end hunger
In 2011, Benny Chastain took part in a special initiative next to his Stock Car Racing Dreams. At the age of 68, he sat down with Aarp and The Drive to End Hunger (Dteh) campaign to raise awareness of senior hunger while meeting the Arca Racing series.
Chastain, who drove the Arca car from Bob Schacht Motorsports No. 75, competed with Aarp in eight races during the season. The sponsoring deal aimed at highlighting the question of hunger among older Americans and supporting Chastain’s passion for racing. The campaign included donations, sensitization programs and grant initiatives to combat hunger nationwide.
“I am thrilled to bring my race to the next level and at the same time serve one thing that can help millions of American seniors,” said Chastain at the time. “This is an opportunity to gather the Arca Racing community for a terrible problem and find solutions.” (via deactivated-world.com)
The Chief Brand Officer from Aarp, Emilio Pardo, praised Chastain’s participation. He said
“Benny represents generations of older Americans who ask themselves: ‘What’s next?’ We are happy to have it back for 2011 to continue to hunt his racing room while returning to one thing that will help seniors who have problems.
Chastasin’s journey to the hunger car showed a special painting and prominently indicated the logos of the campaign. The initiative encouraged fans and companies to contribute through a text-to-donate program and the activations of the trackside activities.
