Rabat – Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid, Morocco’s Minister for Youth, Culture and Communication, confirmed on Wednesday in Jeddah that King Mohammed VI is still obliged to the Palestinian cause and its population.
In the name of Morocco on the 13th Meeting the Minister of Culture in the Islamic World, Bensaid spoke about the important role of the Bayt times al-quds Agency. The agency is the executive arm of the Al-QuDS committee chaired by the king and works to preserve the cultural and civilizational identity of Jerusalem.
Bensaid Detailed several projects and programs for which the agency is responsible. The agency’s mission is to support people in Jerusalem by preserving the heir, rehabilitation of cultural infrastructure and promoting the creative sector. He said these initiatives reflect the unshakable commitment of Morocco under the leadership of King Mohammed VI of defending Al-Quds and supporting its residents.
The minister also praised regional efforts to protect the cultural heritage. He remembered that 117 material and intangible inheritance elements, including several Moroccan objects, were added To the ICESCO list.
Minister Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid met on the sidelines of the conference with the cultural minister of culture, Badr bin bin Abdullah bin Farhan.
The meeting focused on improving cultural cooperation and the exchange between Morocco and Saudi Arabia in various sectors with a special focus on traditional craft and art.
The discussion is based on the dynamics of a Memorandum of Understanding, signed between the Saudi Royal Institute of Traditional Arts and its Moroccan counterpart.
Both ministers also checked the continuous cooperation in order to orchestize events and activities in both countries and demonstrate strong cultural relationships between the two nations.
The conference of the Minister of Culture in the Islamic World is recorded annually by Islamic World, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICICSCO) and serves as a strategic platform. It strengthens cooperation between OIC member states, promotes Islamic cultural identity, supports the creative industry and promotes sustainable development through culture.
