In retrospect, it is remarkable that the Golden Age of Star Trek no longer had injuries behind the scenes. In addition to the potential that Stunts are false, these actors often had to simulate that their ship or station was attacked by leaning into different directions while the camera was shaken violently. However, Deep Space Nine Star Nana visitor once received such a bad injury that she was sent to the hospital, and her treatment was delayed because her Bajoran -Make -up believed the medical staff had a broken nose.
Nana visitor goes to the hospital
The history of the strange journey of the Nana visit to the hospital begins with “Dramatis Personae”, one of the stranger episodes of the first season of season Deep Space Nine. She slipped out, but it was not furnished. Instead, she fell down when she went on wet stairs and injured her back. At first, visitors emulated their hard figure and insisted that she could film all of her scenes, which made the executive producer Rick Berman to insist on the hospital.
Berman is one of the more notorious figures in the Star Trek story, which was accused, by TOS and “raging Tng Writer David Gerrold and DS9 star Terry Farrell “very women -hostile”. The latter’s comments have led to a persistent perception of Berman as someone who dismissed the female stars who worked for him. Credit where credit is due: As soon as Nana tried to film her scenes after her injury, insisted on Berman, who insisted that she immediately went to a hospital.
The actor promised and she went direct to the hospital, which means that she did not take the time to remove her Bajoran -Make -up before leaving the set. You may not think that this is such a big deal … after all, Bajorans look almost exclusively human. So it was unlikely that Nana visitors rock in the hospital with her make -up, as so many people would freak out later, such as Costar Michael Dorn, while leaving the set while he was still wearing his full Klingon -Make -up .
However, when Nana visitors arrived in the hospital, she met with a problem. Namely, that the doctors did not immediately choose their injured backs. This was because they assumed that she had come to the hospital because she had a broken nose. Ironically, this was due to the primary physical characteristics that distinguishes bajorans from humans in Star Trek: A kind of nose flap that could be confused with a broken nose afterwards.
Fortunately, everything that ends well with this story of the wrong identity of injuries ends: Nana visitor was finally able to get the hospital staff to treat their back as soon as they realized that they had no broken nose. And she was able to continue shooting her scenes for “Dramatis Personae”, an episode that impressed future showrunner Ira Steven Behr because it stayed in the first season of the show. If everything is said and done, this incident leaves a question that may never be answered: Does Starfleet have his own version of Osha to protect the job on the 24th century?
