In 2024, almost 4,000 inquiries about the equivalence of university degrees were received in the Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation, said Azeddine El Midaoui on Monday.
In response to a question of the democratic and social constitutional group during the session of the oral questions in the House of Representatives, the minister found that these inquiries cover different university areas.
According to the minister, the sectoral commissions examined almost 3,700 files and proposed the granting of equivalence, the implementation of evaluation tests or additional internships. The minister also explained that the equivalence procedure is subject to the well-defined regulations, including an examination of administrative, education and professional components, depending on the specialties.
The equivalence procedure is not the exclusive jurisdiction of the Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation, insofar as the opinion of the ministerial departments and the occupational orders concerned are necessary, according to specialties and regulated professions, he stated.
