Poseteclou admitted that not many changes were unloaded to Tottenham by Aston Villa from the FA Cup.
The 2-1 loss marks a second cup output for the London Club in three days after losing Liverpool in the Carabao Cup on Thursday.
And while Postecoglou was disappointed with the performance, he says that it was the story of your season and you just have to catch up and go again.
He said: “Obviously disappointed that we are not progressing. It was not a great beginning, that’s the last thing you want and we really had problems getting some control. Then we had an enormous chance at 1-0 that we had not taken to compensate for.
“We got a better grip of the game, but unfortunately we were neglected. When you reach a goal below, it gives the opposition dynamics and self -confidence. You want to struggle early and we didn’t do that.
“We were still in the game (half -time). We just had to stay there. The second half was much more like us. The second goal made it a little more difficult, but I always had the feeling that we were a threat – unfortunately not enough.

“We still scored a goal, we had the opportunity to create more chances. We were still in the game, but we gave an early goal and make it difficult for a second. “

It remains to be seen whether the chairman Daniel Levy will pull the trigger and the sack postcoglou after a dark week, but with players on the way back of injuries, his judgment can instead be reserved for the knockout phases of the Europa League.
